Support & Volunteer

The Oak Ridge Civic Music Association presents the Oak Ridge Symphony and Oak Ridge Chorus in diverse programming led by Music Director Dan Allcott. ORCMA also presents internationally-renowned artists on its Chamber Music Series, as well as promoting the careers of local artists through its free Coffee Concert Series.  Your thoughtful contribution enables the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association to continue to provide the Oak Ridge community with excellent artistic performances and educational opportunities for young people.

Following the wonderful celebrations and successes of the 75th anniversary season, we have arrived at the start of ORCMA’s 2021—2022 season with quite unimaginable uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  We are fortunate that only two ORCMA concerts last spring were impacted by the crisis, and we are thankful to so many of you who converted your tickets into donations. Now, as we embark on the new season, we respectfully ask for your support in the form of a donation. Please be as generous as possible in these troubled times. Donations from our loyal supporters will constitute most of the ORCMA budget for the FY starting in July, because we anticipate no ticket revenue.

Yes, it is awkward to request your support knowing that you will not receive a beautiful brochure in the mail announcing the 76th season of your Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra, the repertoire of the ever-joyous Oak Ridge Chorus, and the famed guest artists on the Chamber Music Series.  But rest assured, music will return again!

In fact, music has never really left us!  If you are a subscriber to ORCMA’s free email list, you received a special link to Maestro Allcott’s musical e-lecture in April.  You also recently received two episodes of Uniquely Oak Ridge Symphony, a video series created by Maestro Allcott, to feature the orchestra’s principal players giving us light-hearted, entertaining, and comforting glimpses into their lives.  If you haven’t already signed up for our email list, contact the office at (865) 483-5569, or email to receive updates and special videos.

And let’s not forget our area youths.  Our new, music education videos project – led by Maestro Allcott and presented by our orchestra musicians who are also recognized teachers – will enhance the online learning experiences of Oak Ridge Schools students.  Then, on August 6th, youths and adults can see an Oak Ridge Symphony string quartet performing live at the International Friendship Bell & Peace Pavilion when the Manhattan Project National Historical Park presents its Days of Peace & Remembrance: Marking 75 Years Since Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

Maestro Allcott and the Board are reimagining what our concerts and other activities may look like in the coming season, and they remain committed to supporting our area’s professional musicians.  Until it is safe to return to the concert stage, please enjoy and support the many ways ORCMA is currently presenting unique and impactful musical experiences for our audience and community members.

We rely on the generous support from local businesses and donors like you.  Click on the "Donate" button below to make your quick and secure donation online.  Donations to ORCMA at the $100 level and higher qualify for ORCMA membership and voting rights.  If you are a recent contributor, you will receive a mailing envelope in your USPS mailbox -- in the event you prefer to donate by check.  You may also donate to ORCMA via the United Arts Fund Drive.  A separate, smaller donation to the Arts Council will help with ACOR's operation costs.  Thank you from the ORCMA Board of Directors, Maestro Allcott, musicians, and staff for supporting your Oak Ridge Civic Music Association.
